ATTENDANCE

Parents, the Administration and Banyan staff would like to thank you for your wonderful support this third marking period of the 2007-2008 school year.  Our attendance has been excellent thanks to you and our boys and girls.  The average daily attendance as of this date is 97.61%.  Our goal is to be over 98% when the marking period closes on March 27^th.  With your continued support we should achieve it.  Classes with  outstanding attendance are: Mrs. Windsor; Ms. Lavin; Ms. N. Garcia; Mrs. Mora; Mrs. J. Garcia; Mrs. Osle; Mrs. Vann; Ms. Torres; Mrs. Rubio; Mrs. Hidalgo; Ms. M. Rodriguez and Mr. Semerano.  There are two classes that are champions!!! – They both happen to be third grade classes- Ms. Roca’s class and Mr. Fillmore’s class.  Remember that in order for our children to learn they must be here in school.

Mrs. Mora, a Pre-K Teacher, is so proud of the superb attendance of her boys and girls.  Mrs. McCalla and Mrs. Infante are also so proud of them.  Pre-K parents in our other Pre-K classes, we encourage you to have your children in class each and every day.  Thanks, again to our wonderful  parents and children.

COMPUTER PROGRAMS/HOME ACCESS

Some grade 2, 3, 4 and 5 students have been attending the Reading Plus Lab in Room 15 and have improved their reading comprehension, fluently and speed.  To be really successful these students are encouraged to work on Reading Plus at home during the evenings and on weekends.  Their teacher and the school administration can view the results of student efforts by going into the computer.

**Also, our 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grade students can access FCAT EXPLORER in Reading and Math at school and at home.  Your child’s teachers can assist you if you have trouble accessing this or any other program.

**RIVERDEEP is an excellent program in the areas of Mathematics and Science.

These programs can also be utilized at computers in the Miami Public Libraries.  Our nearest library is on Coral Way between 93 Ct. and 97 Ave.

Parents for your information the following tutorials have been in operation this school year:

                               NOTICIAS  DE  BANYAN

ASISTENCIA

Padres, la Administracion y la Facultad de la Escuela Primaria de Banyan les agradece todo el soporte y cooperacion que nos han brindado durante este tercer periodo escolar.  Nuestra asistencia escolar ha sido excelente, gracias a ustedes y a sus hijos.  Hasta la fecha, el average de asistencia es de 97.61%.  Nuestra meta es alcanzar a un 98% cuando este periodo escolar se termine en marzo 27.  Con la ayuda de ustedes estamos seguros que lo alcanzaremos.  Las clases de las profesoras/ores que han mantenido una buena asistencia son: Windsor; Lavin; N. Garcia; Mora; J. Garcia; Osle; Vann; Torres; Rubio, Hidalgo; M. Rodriguez; and Semerano. Tenemos dos clases de 3er grado que son los campeones!!!- Roca y Fillmore!!! Recuerden que para que sus hijos aprendan deben de asistir diariamente a sus clases.

La Profesora de Pre-K , Mrs. Mora, esta muy orgullosa de la asistencia de sus alumnos. Tambien Mrs. McCalla y Mrs. Infante comparten este orgullo.  A los padres de otras  clases de Pre-K, alienten a sus hijos para que asistan todos los dias al colegio.  Gracias de nuevo a ustedes, padres ejemplares y a sus maravillosos hijos!!!!

PROGRAMAS DE COMPUTADORA/CON ACCESO EN LA CASA

Varios estudiantes de 2do, 3er, 4to y 5to grados han estado asistiendo al Programa “Reading Plus” en el aula #15 y han mejorado la comprension, fluidez y rapidez en Lectura.  Para continuar con este exito, los estudiantes deben continuar practicando este programa en sus casas por las tardes o durante los fines de semana.  Sus Profesores y la Administracion podran ver sus  resultados y esfuerzos a traves de la computadora.

Tambien, nuestros estudiantes de 3er, 4to y 5to grados tiene acceso al FCAT EXPLORER en Lectura en el colegio y en sus casas.  Los Profesores de sus hijos podran brindarle alguna asistencia/ayuda que necesiten.

El Programa de RIVERDEEP es excelente en las areas de Matematicas y Ciencias.

Estos programas pueden obtenerse en las Bibliotecas Publicas del Condado de Miami-Dade. La mas cerca esta localizada: Coral Way entre la 93 Ct y 97 Avenida.
